Virtual Design, Development and Validation (VDDV) Engineer ID-10863

Description

  • Perform, research, define technical roadmaps, develop and validate General Motors future Battery Electric Vehicle high voltage Rechargeable Energy Storage Systems (“RESS” or battery pack) structures including packaging and protection of battery packs (battery cover, tray, rails, Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU), modules, and cells) and interface compatibility with chassis, Body in White (BIW) and underbody structures.
  • Develop and validate new RESS designs and requirements of RESS structures utilizing steel and aluminum alloys and composite materials, and to meet Noise and Vibration (N&V), durability, reliability, and fatigue standards. Perform fillet radius change, section change, pattern, and control block morphing, using MeshWorks tool, to battery packs structures.
  • Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA), using Abaqus, OptiSruct, Isight, Hyperworks, ANSA, MeshWorks, nCode DesignLife, Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and VCollab tools, to determine and predict RESS structures stress and strains.

Additional Description

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • One (1) year of experience as an Engineer, or related role.
  • Experience performing morphing, using MeshWorks tool, to morph Battery Pack or Body in White (BIW) structures.
