Atlas is hiring Special Inspector 2 for New York/New Jersey area.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • In-process construction welding special inspection
  • In-process construction bolting special inspection
  • On site NDT evaluation of completed welds.
  • Storage and maintenance of company equipment.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to high school graduation or a G.E.D. issued by a state department of education;
  • Experience in welding, bolting and NDT II Techniques is a plus.
  • This position requires the ability to walk, stand, stoop, bend, stretch, climb, operate a keyboard, and possess a good range of motion.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle driver’s license is required.

Technical Requirements:

  • Perform level II ultrasonic shearwave testing. Magnetic particle testing, and visual inspections a plus.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain detailed inspection records and compile summary reports.
  • Documentation Review: Ensure materials and processes meet relevant codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Coordination with Contractors.
  • Work with contractors to ensure proper techniques.
  • Communication: Report findings to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement QA procedures and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain and use inspection tools effectively.
  • Hold a current AWS CWI Certification or ICC Welding a plus.
  • ICC Bolting Certification (or equivalent) a plus.

Other Miscellaneous Qualities:

  • Ability to travel, to remote construction sites in New York and New Jersey area

Compensation

$40-$50 Hourly
