Internship Details:

  • Duration: Summer 2024 | 12-week term (May 21 – August 9, 2024)
  • Location: Dallas, TX, Corporate Campus (Hybrid, with 50% work-from-home flexibility)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Compensation: $28 per hour

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data collection, validation, and root cause analysis to support Quality Control initiatives.
  • Collaborate on complex data analyses to support both technical and non-technical stakeholders, delivering insights that aid strategic decisions.
  • Use data visualization tools to present trends, insights, and recommendations for continuous improvement projects.
  • Create and manage queries to gather and organize data, addressing urgent requests and identifying data needs.
  • Monitor processes and evaluate trends to identify discrepancies, ensuring our operations align with compliance standards.
  • Contribute to impactful projects that help Southwest maintain low costs, modernize operations, and enhance compliance.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress, preferably in a related field (Data Analysis, Business, or IT).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Alteryx, or QuickBase is preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate business problems, identify data needs, and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
  • Team-oriented, with a collaborative work style and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Prior internship, capstone project, or relevant coursework is a plus.
