Summary:

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) is currently a CAPPS HUB Agency. This position, located within the Finance division, aims to review and assist in developing additional queries for the Financial Staff. The goal is to ensure that the staff can effectively retrieve meaningful information from the CAPPS System.

  • At least 10 years – Experience with CAPPS Business Process Design/Redesign/Reengineering best practices
  • At least 10 years – Experience with Business/System/Data Analysis and Improvement
  • At least 10 years – Experience with the development of various reporting mechanisms
  • At least 10 years – Experience with ERP/CAPPS Financials/PeopleSoft in Texas
  • At least 10 years – Proficient with the Microsoft Windows and Office products
  • At least 10 years – Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
  • At least 10 years – CAPPS GL, Commitment Control, Purchasing, E-Procurement, AP, Cash Receipts, Inv, Assets and Grants
  • At least 10 years – Query and Reporting Development with CAPPS
  • At least 5 years – Experience with the All-Activity Query Logic in CAPPS

Duties/Responsibilities

This will include working with cross-divisional executives, directors and other stakeholders as directed by the CFO to review current TCAPPS business processes which will include but is not limited to:

  • Lead the All Activity Query Development.
  • Design, Test and Build Queries to assist with business process improvement.
  • Coordinate the necessary development of additional reports and/or queries as needed.
  • Assist with re-engineering or develop processes necessary for efficient use of the CAPPS Financial system.
  • Working with business customers to gather requirements for the system and/or process improvements and report development.
  • Prepare detailed documentation in support of any of the activities listed above as requested by management.
  • Complete full range of testing as needed.
